Elon has already cucked and it’s not even been a week yet bros.
Elon Musk bought Twitter and immediately bent the knee to censorship and political correctness. Musk originally said that he would make Twitter speech as free as possible. That means that you would theoretically be able to say anything there as long as it’s not literally illegal. But I knew that would never happen because "the law" doesn't actually determine what is considered safe speech. Soon after buying Twitter, Elon Musk predictably reneged on his impossible promise by stating that he would create a content moderation “council” to monitor speech on the platform. Which obviously nukes any possibility of free speech.
What did people expect anyway? Free speech doesn’t exist in America (please refer to Kanye West) so why would free speech exist on an extremely public platform like Twitter? And why would free speech exist on there when most Americans, both on the left and on the right, think that words they don't like are "hate speech." Elon Musk might be the head of Twitter, but there are still a number of investors who don’t want people saying certain things on there.
Moreover, the ADL has already given its list of persona non grata that Musk needs to make sure that he keeps off the platform. The ADL, which has been on a censoring frenzy after Kanye went “Death Con 3,” is one prominent organization that is directly policing the speech of American citizens. After Elon's takeover, the ADL warned Musk against reinstating individuals who might “spread hate” and “misinformation.” The fundamental problem is that "free speech" as outlined by the letter of the law (a.k.a. The First Amendment) always loses against cultural norms, public pressure, ethnic considerations, and special interest groups.
What fun is Twitter if people can’t even spam the n-word? After Musk’s purchase of the company a bunch of troll accounts spammed the n-word on there as a test of whether or not they would be allowed to say it without getting banned. An article came out saying that there had been a 500% surge in usage of the word since Musk bought Twitter. LeBum James, who is barely literate and frequently listens to rap music containing the n-bomb in every other sentence, tweeted angrily after seeing the headline, saying that his feelings were hurt. Elon Musk immediately cucked, saying that he would address the problem by banning the users. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of thousands of regular accounts, Lebron James included, who say the n-word regularly on Twitter all the time. Make it make sense.
There is no free speech on Twitter and there never will be. Elon Musk is a cool guy but he’s not going to save America, sorry.
